Synergy Meditation
Friday, May 29, 2009
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
$15.00
|
|
Meditation is one of the most effective ways to begin accessing the "Universal Mind and Consciousness". Meditation is also the psychological "royal road" to relaxation, health, and enhanced self awareness. The attainment of the "synergized meditative" state becomes a matter of great ease with practice. Relaxed breathing is one the most effective ways to enter the meditative state of higher consciousness. In this workshop
there will be a half-hour lecture followed by a 15-20 minute guided synergy meditation then, move onto a discussion and Q&A period to share what they experienced and to ask any questions of the instructor. Wear comfortable clothing.

Author Event: Reveal the Rockefeller Within by Chris Ordway
Saturday, May 30, 2009
12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
No Charge
|
|
Chris Ordway has worked with literally thousands of
individual financial situations and in his experience, there is one thing that
stands out…not one person is happy with his or her financial
situation; not ONE! Why? In a nutshell, everyone behaves badly with
money! When it comes to money, people just
BEHAVE badly on a subconscious level.
Fortunately, you don’t have to BE a Rockefeller, you simply have to ACT
like a Rockefeller and the end result will be the same… financial success!

Hypnosis for Weight Loss
Saturday, May 30,
2009
1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
$20.00 Advance / $30.00 Day of Event
|
|
Why can't you lose weight and keep it off? How many diets have you tried? How many pounds have you lost and gained back? How much did you weigh five years ago? Ten years ago? Twenty years ago? If you have been successful in other areas of your life, why can't you successfully lose weight and maintain a healthier and more attractive body? Willpower is not enough! You need to harness the power of your subconscious to support your weight loss efforts,
instead of sabotaging them. Daniel has been a consultant to Weight Watchers International, and specializes in weight loss hypnosis as a Clinical Hypnotherapist with an office in Tempe. He has presented this workshop six times this year--always to rave reviews! In addition, Hypnosis is a PROVEN method to assist weight loss. In March 1999, the Smithsonian Magazine said, "With weight loss the evidence is conclusive, hypnosis does help people reduce." An article in the August 2004 issue of Oprah Magazine
came to the same conclusion. For more information about Daniel and his work, go to his website: Inner Power Hypnosis.

Recovery: A New Story - Discussion and Book Signing
Saturday, June 13,
2009
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
No Charge
|
|
Join Holly Hakes Petersen, author of Recovery: A New
Story, for a FREE discussion, mini-workshop, and book signing. Recovery: A New Story is impacting women with addictions in a way that
the traditional 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and AlAnon may not. The 12 steps
of AA were written in the 1930s by men using terminology that was not geared to
the specific issues of women, today’s recovering woman has a variety of needs
that the original steps do not always address. As a
former alcohol/drug and gambling addictions counselor and member of Alcoholics
Anonymous and AlAnon Family Groups, Holly understands the issues of sexual
abuse, rape, domestic violence, and other issues, that most women in recovery
face. Holly realized that by changing the way women think and speak as part of
a daily program they could overcome the certain victim mentality that was
keeping them stuck. Based
on the Law of Attraction, Recovery: A New
Story’s 12 Steps help women practice a way of daily living that empowers
them to attract the healthy lives they desire and deserve. Reach
Holly by phone at 480-507-4799 or by email at recoveryanewstory@yahoo.com.

Eleven year old David Wiseman loves the game of cricket, but has no aptitude for the sport at all. Thus, when a Jamaican family moves in next door and sets up a cricket net in the backyard, David is thrilled to have new teachers and new friends in his life. Set in East London during the 1960's, the rest of the neighborhood isn't as welcoming to the new family, putting David and his family of recent Jewish immigrants in a difficult situation. This film takes us from intense racial tension to the comfort of a supportive community, reminding us of the magic and beauty that comes from friendships that cross cultures. Conscious Connections: How To Save the Earth Using the Law of Relationships, presented by Glen Knape
Sunday, June 14, 2009
11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Donation
|
|
The old civilization is dying, and a new one is being born. The out-dated methods of leadership, education, healing, business, art, religion, and spirituality no longer work. New methods must be created that will serve humanity and the one planetary life. This seems like an immense task, and yet we can accomplish it if those of us who feel the call to help will respond using the new and well tested methods. Those new methods of service, using the “Law of Relationship”, can be quite simple and easily performed. Glen will describe the Law, how to use it, and take us through a simple exercise that can be used to help transform any condition from the old into the new.

Transitions: A Celebration of the Solstice
Shakuhachi Flute with Bobby Avstreih
Sunday, June 21, 2009
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Donation
|
The Solstice hangs on the cusp of change. Come with your own images of change, your best intentions, your hopes and dreams. Use this shared time to write, draw, move or be still with the ancient 'sui-zen' sound of the shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute) and selected poetry and stories presented by Bobby Seigetsu Avstreih. Bring your own poems or brief stories to share if you wish. Bobby creates the atmosphere, the "facillitating environment".
You are welcome to use it as you wish. "Let my playing be my learning, and my learning be my playing." Johan Huizinga: Homo Ludens
Experience the sounds of the Shakuhachi flute with Bobby Avstreih. Feel
free to meditate, create expressive dance, move through yoga asana or tai chi
forms, or just relax and listen. Bobby has been performing and teaching shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute)
for almost 30 years. He was "Artist-in-Residence" at the Humes Japanese Stroll
Garden in Locust Valley, NY from 1987-1997, at the Japanese Garden of the
Denver, Colorado Botanic Gardens from 1997-2000. As with old Japanese
traditions, he received a certification name Seigetsu ("Peaceful Moon") in
1987. Bobby's playing is dedicated to the ancient music of the sui-zen
("blowing meditation") tradition of wandering monks, with legendary pieces
dating back almost 1,000 years. This is the only musical form associated with
the practice of Zen Buddhism. He calls his programs "Music of Wind and Water"
and weave tales and poetry from Taoist and Zen traditions around the music to
develop a context for the music.
